MMMM! German Food:
Menu:
Desert- Apfelstrudel Apfelstrudel (apple strudel) is a delicious pastry filled with apples flavoured with sugar, cinnamon, raisins and breadcrumbs – and has been popular since the 18th century. The delicate flakey pastry is made from an elastic dough, which is kneaded and stretched until it’s as thin as phyllo pastry. The pastry is wrapped round and round the filling building up many layers, and then baked. It’s served warm in slices sprinkled with powdered or icing sugar.

Lunch- Wurst There are more than 1500 different types of wurst (sausage) made in Germany and you’ll find street stalls selling them everywhere. The most popular include bratwurst (fried sausage) made of ground pork and spices, Wiener (Viennese), which is smoked and then boiled, and blutwurst and schwarzwurst, which are both blood sausages. Look out for regional specialities like Berlin’s currywurst (sausage with curried ketchup on the top), Bavaria’s weisswurst, a white sausage that you peel before eating with a sweet mustard, and Nuremberg's grilled rostbratwurst, served with fermented shredded cabbage known as sauerkraut.
Dinner- Sauerbraten Germans love their meat – and sauerbraten (meaning ‘sour’ or ‘pickled’ roast) is a pot roast that’s regarded as one of the country’s national dishes. It can be made from many different meats (originally horse), which are marinated in wine, vinegar, spices, herbs and seasoning for up to 10 days. Schweinenbratenis a delicious roast pork dish, usually served with braised cabbage or sauerkraut and dumplings (knoedel), and washed down with a pilsner beer.
They get most of their food from people in their country. They love there meat and beer which are grown and brewed in their country.

I found two sites that perfectly describe germanys culture.

-This website lists the values, language, religion, food, and drink. This is just a brief list of the things that highlights the german culture. Not just what we perceive here in the US.
http://www.everyculture.com/Ge-It/Germany.html
-This link is more of a factual information about the economy, roles, political sides, and marriage/family. This link has so much valuable information that even I was super surprised to find.

This picture correctly represents the culture distribution throughout the country and really shows the importance of how they view certain things. I chose this picture because I feel like it is the perfect fit.

The explanation of this screenshot is to show after world war one how the population and life expectancy. To show after a few years after the war how many children per woman there were. The picture right below....
This screenshot was to show the second population increase between children per woman after the second world war. Just a few short years after, the amount of increase was clearly insane.
The amount that people spent in health care per person was in 2010 is represented in this screenshot.
The screenshot shows how much Germany spent on military expenditure, which is the same number as the United States.
Religion:Sacred Places: There are so many sacred cities, I will list just a few because there are so many. There is Aachen Cathedral, Barrfusserkirche Erfur, City Church Wittenberg, Duetsher Dom Berlin, and Limburg Cathedral. It is so cool that Germany has over 75 Sacred places.
Government and Religion: In the past there used to be a lot government control over religion. However, after 1949 there was a slight separation from government and religion that basically allowed more religion freedom thought the country
|
Origin: The original dominant religion in Germany was Roman Catholicism. The catholic religion dominated up until 1919-1949. Having religious freedom became a thing and that is when Christianity began to arise which is now the dominant religion but it is not alone.
|
Societal Role: According to my research 20-25% of people don't believe in any dominant religious groups. They don't associate with any of them. This has brought religion being less of a thing to people in their country.I wasn't able to find any culture things regarding religion like the ones they might have in other countries.
|
Conclusion: The main two religions in Germany are Christianity and Catholics. There are a few minority religions such as Islam, Muslim, and Judaism. There are not huge amount of the population that do follow these religions. As I said in the above paragraphs as time has gone on it has become more of a freedom instead of a requirement.
